Decreasing hcg levels
I was interested if there is any kind of pattern to hcg drops (haven't found any pattern so far) so I did a survey of women on one of the forums I am on. There is also some women who posted their decreasing levels here. Please contribute to the survey and post your levels in a comment. Click on comments at the bottom of this post.

I'm glad I found your blog b/c I've been wondering when my levels will reach zero. It's almost been a month since my d & c. My dr. said to wait 6 months after they reach zero. I've read that they recommend a year (and I'd rather do the 6 month thing). I hope this is correct with your doctors.

Partial molar detected at 19 weeks, when no heartbeat heard then confirmed by abnormal u/sound. After d & c, results showed that the fetus developed to 12 weeks size. We had no signs of miscarry at all. A missed miscarriage.

Getting really nervous, its slowed down so much and taking so long :(
week 7: 4.75
week 8: 6.0 the dr thinks this may be a rise due to lab error/reading differences. Now consulting with Gyn Onc. She suggested waiting longer between draws now that levels are so low. Will retest in a month...really hoping to reach 0 soon!

Don't really know what to amek of this...is it considered a plateau? It seems like everyone's levels dropped fairly quickly. I am very nervous as we have fertility issues and it took us 2 years just to concieve this mole. If I have to wait another year and do chemo before we can even try again, I'll just die :-(

This is so frustrating! I am getting conflicting info from my Dr's and the internet about how long to wait to TTC again. One set of Dr's is saying 1 year, another set 6 months and places on the web are saying 3 months for partial long as your HCG gets to 0 within 7 weeks after D&C. AHHHHHH!

Partial molar pregnancy found at 10 weeks. Baby died at 9 weeks. Levels prior to D&C were 440,000. Levels after D&C were 350,000. 1 week later levels were 865. 1 week after that levels were 175.

I am being treated at Brigham and Women's Hospital In Boston. People come from all over the country and world to be treated for their molar/partial molar pregnancies at that hospital. They are clear experts in the field and they told me for my partial molar pregnancy that as soon as I get 3 negative tests in a row I can try to conceive. There is no scientific physical reason to wait longer. Just wanted to let all your ladies out there know what the experts are saying. Don't beleive what you read on the internet. It is outdated if factual at all. 3/2011

I love all these posts. This has been so hard for me and I feel so alone. Thanks for the above post! I have done a lot of research and I will be trying to conceive after I reach negative and have 2 or 3 periods. There is no scientific research that shows waiting after that makes any difference.

At my 1st doc. Appt he advised no heart beat was detected. Said my placenta was abnormaly large,my hgc levels was over 700,00. Doc. Sd might be cancer. Day of induced labor levels dropped to 225,00 (13wks) Day of dnc levels were 160,00. Day after dnc levels were at 54,000. 1wk follow up 4,000.....

Ultrasound said no heartbeat at 12 weeks, but baby (mole)--still hard to think of it as something other than a baby--only 8 weeks along when passed away. Doctor told me pathology said it was not a partial mole and then never called about the genetic test. I didn't think the gen test was a big deal, but finally called her after 4 weeks--she changed diag based on genetic test and told me it was a partial and to come in right away for testing. Ugh.

Had d&c 10 weeks ago - only started testing 4 weeks ago - levels were 710 on first test, 2nd test was 862 - waiting for results from yesterday's tests to see what happens next :(
Partial molar. Baby never developed past 8.5 weeks but didn't die right away (had a heartbeat at 10.5wks). First pregancy and I'm a little freaked- this is kind of a crazy diagnosis and I'm blown away that getting pregnant could cause a form of cancer. I'm 28 and this one was a surprise but now I find myself worried that maybe I do want kids now, but I'm scared to relive this experience. The internet has done little more than freak me out, I'm seeing conflicting info about when its safe to try again, I almost want to try again soon just to prove to myself I can have a healthy baby even though babies weren't on my radar 6 mo ago. Sorry... rambling. I really appreciate you ladies posting your experiences. This pmp stuff isn't your run of the mill miscarriage so its hard to explain to friends and family how I'm feeling.

I have heard the can go down and then go back up. I don't know if I should be worried that it took 3+ weeks to go from 31 to 6. I'm seeing you ladies aboved dropping by hundreds in a week, I'm worried that it should be at 0 already.
8/2 started spotting and cramping, don't know if this is a period or something else. I had some spotting back on 7/1 and I'm not sure what that was either. Did any of you bleed while you were waiting for your levels to drop?
